Y’all, here comes FALL!
Fall is by far one of my favorite times of year because life seems to slow down as the cold creeps in and the leaves begin to change. Football is on nonstop in my house, soup for dinner becomes the norm, and there are SO MANY CLASSIC BOOKS to dust off!
I also love cozy twinkling lights, fuzzy socks, cooler evenings, sweater weather, and filling my house with the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin. Autumn makes curling up with a great book feel even more magical.

These are the stories I find myself reaching for every single autumn. They may not all be spooky, but they perfectly capture the feeling of the season.
1. Wuthering Heights
Windy moors and Stormy weather and Family drama AND Questionable life choices.
Honestly…what more could any of us ask for in a classic fall read? The atmosphere alone makes Wuthering Heights one of the best classic books to read in autumn.
2. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
We all know the Headless Horseman, but But how many of you have actually read the original story?
If not, make this the year you do. It’s short, entertaining, and one of the most iconic Halloween classic books ever written.

3. The Lord of the Rings
I’m completely biased, even if I still can’t decide if Tolkien or C.S. Lewis is the greatest storyteller of all time, but the friendships, sacrifices, battles, and hope woven throughout The Lord of the Rings make it one of my favorite stories ever written.
I cry every single time I finish it. The books are detailed and can be hard to get through so if you find your self struggling there the audiobooks are phenomenal. Whether you’re driving, crafting, working, or taking a fall walk, they’re well worth the time.

It doesn’t feel like fall until Harry Potter is playing (audiobooks, movies, soundtracks, it doesn’t matter which) The books and audiobooks are incredible, and they’re one of my favorite cozy autumn reads to revisit every year. It's magical to return to this series as the leaves begin to change.

Life gets sooooo busy. There are endless distractions, endless to-do lists, and before we know it, the holidays have arrived.
I’ve found that slowing down with classic literature helps me breathe again. Whether I’m reading, embroidering, journaling, or simply enjoying a quiet evening, with these stories it reminds me to appreciate beauty, courage, friendship, hope, and so many good things that are easy to overlook when a schedule is full!
